Blue Ox
There are two motorhome mounted tow bars in our product line, the Aluminum Aladdin Tow Bar and the ball-in-socket design Adventa Tow Bar. Both of these mount directly to the motorhome itself.
In a car mounted tow bar, there are the Acclaim and the Adventurer tow bars. The Acclaim is available in a pintle hook mounted model with an O-Ring to hook up with.
Generally considered an entry level budget tow bar, the Ambassador Tow Bar is available in three models.
The basic difference is that Blue Ox sells and calls the product a base plate. Other manufacturers may call the product a bracket.
Our base plates are designed to securely attach a tow bar to the front of a vehicle being towed. The base plate is bolted to the frame of the front end of the vehicle.
The base plates come in either the standard tab version or the removable tab version. The standard tab has a small part that shows on the front of the vehicle. The removable tab is different because you can actually remove this part that shows and not have anything sticking out of the front of your vehicle. Some base plates are available in one or the other versions only, some in both. The image above shows a standard tab.
